Wendy Hayum-Gross, LCPC NCC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University and her M.S.Ed. in counseling from Northern Illinois University. Her clinical training included both the NIU Counseling and Development Center and a management role at the NIU Career Planning and Placement Offices.
Ms. Hayum-Gross began her career working in an employee assistance program (EAP) in Winfield where she counseled couples, individuals and families and managed educational outreach programs for companies and employees. As a small business owner for the past 30+ years, she has honed the professional experience that continues to give her a unique insight into career concerns and career coaching.
Ms. Hayum-Gross is also very interested in providing counseling services to teens/young adults and their families. She has clinical background with youth populations in the LGBTQ community and also with skill development in the areas of self-confidence and self-efficacy.
Ms. Hayum-Gross is known for her warm, relaxed and comfortable approach to counseling. She is an integrative therapist and works from a strength based, positive and affirming perspective over a wide range of issues. These include but are not limited to, couples counseling, career concerns, personal coaching, self-empowerment, life transition into retirement and grief and loss.
In her spare time she enjoys volunteering for local nonprofit organizations such as Rotary International where she serves as a past president and an assistant governor. She volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America and in the past served on the District 204 Diversity committee and the Naperville Fair Housing Commission.
