Dr. Julie Young obtained her Bachelors in Arts with Distinction in Psychology from University of Illinois at Chicago and her Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School and American School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Young provides individual, couple, and family therapy and psychological and neuropsychological assessments from preschool to older adult age groups.

Her therapeutic orientation is based on the individual needs of the client with an emphasis on compassion, psychoeducation, and goal oriented interventions. Dr. Young has specialized training in sexual and domestic violence and bullying behaviors, as well as personal knowledge of how these affect an individual’s emotional experience.

She has provided professional and school wide presentations aimed at minimizing bullying and child and adult sexual abuse, including presentations to parents on how to talk to their children about these issues. Finally, Dr. Young has a continued interest in how the brain influences behaviors and emotions.
